How Aurora handles information in the Mac app and on this website.

Effective: 20 June 2026

Overview

Aurora is a macOS application for App Store optimisation, analytics and revenue monitoring. Aurora is designed to keep its primary working data on your Mac and to request only the access required to provide features you choose to use.

Information processed by the Mac app

App Store Connect credentials

If you connect App Store Connect, Aurora processes the issuer ID, key ID, private key and vendor number you provide. Credentials are stored locally using the macOS Keychain and are used to authenticate requests to Apple's APIs. Aurora does not display your private key after it has been stored.

App and performance data

Aurora may download and store information associated with your App Store Connect account, including app metadata, analytics reports, sales and trends reports, subscription metrics and related report status information. This data is cached locally to build dashboards, history and exports.

Public App Store data

Keyword tracking, ratings and competitor results use information publicly available from Apple's App Store services. This can include app names, positions, artwork, seller names, ratings and rating counts.

Realtime purchase events

If you enable realtime events, App Store Server Notifications are received by an Aurora relay hosted on Cloudflare infrastructure and delivered to installations you register. Event payloads may include app, product, transaction, environment and storefront identifiers. The relay is used to route notifications and support delivery; Aurora also stores received events locally on your Mac. Disconnecting realtime events removes the registered installation and its cached relay events according to the app's available controls.

Notifications and purchases

If enabled, macOS notification permission is used to alert you to ranking, competitor or purchase events. Aurora Pro purchases and subscription status are processed by Apple through StoreKit. Aurora does not receive your full payment card details.

Website information

This is a static website hosted by Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process standard technical request information such as IP address, browser details and request timestamps to deliver and protect the site. Aurora does not currently place advertising cookies or use a separate behavioural analytics service on this website.

How information is used

  • To provide keyword, competitor, analytics, revenue and notification features.
  • To authenticate requests you initiate to Apple services.
  • To maintain app functionality, diagnose errors and protect service integrity.
  • To respond when you contact support.

Sharing

Aurora does not sell your personal information. Information is shared only with service providers needed to operate selected features, such as Apple and Cloudflare, or where required by law.

Retention and control

Local Aurora data remains on your Mac until removed using app controls or by deleting the app's data. Realtime registration and cached event data can be removed by disconnecting realtime events. You can revoke an App Store Connect API key at any time in App Store Connect.

Security

Reasonable technical measures are used to protect information, including macOS Keychain storage for credentials and encrypted HTTPS connections. No system can guarantee absolute security.

Children

Aurora is a professional developer tool and is not directed to children under 13.

Changes

This policy may be updated as Aurora develops. The effective date above will change when material revisions are published.
